A community-rooted organisation, built to last.
EMISSC is a social protection NPO operating from Section E, Giyani — serving the Greater Giyani Municipality and the wider Mopani District in Limpopo Province.
Eight programmes. One promise.
EMISSC — Ebenezer Multipurpose Integrated Social Service Centre — was constituted to address the layered social challenges facing rural and peri-urban families in Limpopo. We exist to empower self-reliance through integrated social protection: from early childhood and family work, through youth development, into care for people living with HIV/AIDS and survivors of violence.
We are governed by a Board of seven Office Bearers serving five-year terms, with a Director as ex-officio member. Our work is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and our amended organisational constitution.
A decent standard of living for all.
A social protection organisation that promotes a decent standard of living for all people in the community.
Empowerment through self-reliance.
To empower and enhance self-reliance through the provision of social protection services to vulnerable, poor and people with special needs.
Principles that shape every programme.
Dignity
Every person we serve deserves respect, privacy and care — full stop.
Integration
Programmes connect — a child protection case can flow directly into family support.
Accountability
Independent financial reporting, written records and quinquennial member reviews.
Self-reliance
We measure success by what people can do for themselves after we step back.
How EMISSC is run.
